General Information

Scientific and Practical Journal “Legal Science and Law Enforcement Practice” is established by the Tyumen Advanced Training Institute of the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation. It has been published quarterly since 2006.

The journal is registered by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technologies and Mass Media (Mass Media Registration Certificate: PI series No. FS 77-79556 of December 07, 2020) and in ISSN International Centre (1998-6963).

The journal is presented in the Russian Science Citation Index.

Since 2010 the journal has been included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications, where the main scientific results of dissertations for the scientific degree of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences should be published, since 8 February 2023 – in the following scientific specialties:

5.1.1. Theoretical and Historical Legal Sciences;

5.1.2. Public Law Sciences;

5.1.4. Criminal Law Sciences.

According to the Distribution of journals included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications, where the main scientific results of dissertations for the scientific degree of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences should be published, approved on 20 October 2022 by the working group of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the journal was assigned to the first category of peer-reviewed scientific publications (K1).

Based on the Recommendation of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia of 8 December 2023 No. 31/1 “On categorization of the list of peer-reviewed scientific publications, where the main scientific results of dissertations for the scientific degree of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences should be published”,  since 1 January 2024 the Journal “Legal Science and Law Enforcement Practice” has been assigned to the second category of peer-reviewed scientific publications (K2).

 

 Mission

The goal of the journal “Legal Science and Law Enforcement Practice” is the comprehensive scientific research of the problems of legal science and law enforcement practices of Russia and foreign countries. It is focused on such categories of readers and authors as research and teaching staff, postgraduate students, law enforcement officers, representatives of state authorities and local self-government bodies.

The journal’s mission is to create a discussion platform for the authors and readers to substantiate and critically analyze the scientific ideas, the sphere of application of which is law enforcement practice.

 

Content

“Legal Science and Law Enforcement Practice” is a periodical scientific publication. According to the journal policy, it welcomes the materials on a wide range of issues concerning the law enforcement system of the society.

The journal is peer reviewed. The reviewers are the recognized qualified Russian and foreign experts in the relevant fields of legal science.

Forming a portfolio of scientific papers, work on the journal’s content and publication is carried out by the editorial board, which consists of the Russian and foreign experts. The editorial board provides peer review of all scientific papers, as well as ensuring that the authors comply with the submission guidelines.

Authors, reviewers, editorial board members and publisher adhere to the internationally accepted principles of publication ethics, developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), as well as the rules and recommendations of the Association of Science Editors and Publishers.
